CHASE YOUR DREAMS
Most children growing up would socialize with others their own age, Demetre Young however was surrounded by older adults. This would solidify his willingness to seek out mentors and others who were willing to share their knowledge.
In 2012 Demetre tried Uberman sleep otherwise known as extreme polyphasic sleep cycles. While on the Uberman sleep cycle Demetre developed a skill for CAD starting this and finishing the CAD model within 6 hours. The drawings were officially revised in 2013.
After learning Autodesk Inventor Demetre decided he needed to become certified. After passing the Certiport exam he also completed a special training session hosted by Autodesk.
Demetre has over 3,000 hours in Autodesk Inventor, CATIA V5, SolidWorks, SolidEdge, NX, TeamCenter, and Autodesk Alias.
Demetre was extremely lucky that he attended Pike Central High School where Ray Niehaus was teaching. From this industry based instructor Demetre learned the importance of networking and what was possible.
After graduating high school with two diplomas and running two companies Demetre decided to attend college. After interviewing at M.I.T and being accepted into a Purdue University satellite campus he decided to attend Vincennes University.
A semester in required a change of venue, so during the middle of the school year Demetre transferred into Purdue University in 2014 after appealing a denial of acceptance. After a few semesters of introductory courses boredom and lack of stimulation set in which resulted in Demetre being dropped from Purdue University.
During the six months off Demetre designed a vinyl rolling machine for the Open Canvas a company in Lafayette, IN ran by another Purdue student. Demetre took the time to brush up on marketing skills and building a network of connections.
I'm sure a lot of people have seen Denzel Washington's video about having a 1.78 GPA and hoping that no one could relate. Currently he is projected to graduate dual degrees with a 3.0GPA.
While exploring all of the design possibilities the automotive industry has captured his attention. The intricate details of a legendary creature that glides through air has fascinated me for years. I have a huge interest in surface modeling and the form of hypercars.
In order to keep creativity flowing Demetre has picked up photography and videography. Even this tends to go back to automotive due to the curvature and beauty that hypercars hold.
